“I believe that meaningful growth is achieved only when a person feels fully heard, accepted, safe, and worthy just as they are in the present moment.”

Melanie Kantor, LCSW

I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Georgetown University and my Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. I am a member of the National Association of Social Work, the Greater Washington Clinical Social Work Association, and Phi Beta Kappa. I am a Certified Budding Yogis Instructor.

My clinical experiences began with providing therapy at several types of schools including private, international, and public. I spent several wonderful years at the Ivymount School where I served neurodivergent children with a wide range of special needs.

For the past several years I have served a wide range of clients at In Step, a group private practice. There I have provided individual therapy as well as designed and led groups for young adults with Social Anxiety, for young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, for anxious kids, for middle schoolers, and for parents of young children.
